I learned that food comes from plants and animals. I learned that worms eat paper and it comes out the bottom a soil. I learned that if a dollar bill is broken a little bit they have to call before they make a new one. I did a problem that I finished and the answer was 868. I added 325 + 268 + 275.

Food and Worms

Uncategorized No Comments »

During science students have been having fun figuring out what fuels our body. We’ve talked a lot about how important it is to eat a  variety of foods from all of the areas of the food pyramid. The students split up into groups, and each group was assigned to a  specific food group. They searched through food circulars to find foods that would fit into their assigned group. Here’s what they found.

We’ve also been learning about what worms can recycle. Students have been using left over scraps from their snacks to help feed our worms. We  came up with a list of items that we can compost and not compost. Do you know what worms will turn into soil?

I learned that worms recycle worms, leaves, and other things. It doesn’t smell nice in the worm box. We are doing Melvin and Kansas poster boards. Today we went on the nature trail two times. We were doing the flying squirrel on the nature trail.

In math today I counted by tens and ones in my problem. I used the 100’s board to help me jump.

I learned about Owen and Mzee. Owen is a hippopotamus and Mzee is a big turtle.  Owen and Mzee are friends forever. They like to sit together and they like each other. They live in Africa.

I wrote my writing habits and I write about true stories and make believe stories.
